Self-Improvement and Interesting Knowledge

Learn to question yourself at all times. Many people tend to take this the wrong way and think that I am advocating personal doubt. But this is not what questioning yourself means. What it means is that you must give yourself the time to explore your own being. Questioning yourself is really the art of personal contemplation.

The bull headed tend to think that to question is to doubt. And we are all told that doubt is a great enemy. Even Yoda tell us that we should, “do or do not.” But Yoda wasn’t telling Luke to smash through life without personal thought, what he was telling him was that when you have to taking action, you have to do it all the way. Before you get to that place of action, it is always good to question yourself and your motives.

The fine art of self contemplation is a wonderful way to begin to meditate upon your life and the world. To do this you have to give yourself the time to question yourself and to enjoy this questioning. Take the time, every day if you can, to be alone for a while. Use this time to question all of the things in your life. Sometimes just being able to be alone and to let your mind wander where it wants to is enough. Your mind will naturally take you to this place or that, and as it does so it will allow you to question and postulate on different things.

The trick when you take time for personal contemplation is to be able to keep track of the thoughts that you are having. Most often when we are contemplating we are what is referred to as ‘daydreaming’ and just like regular dreams, it is easy to forget what we had just been daydreaming about. We often wake up from a daydream and we soon forget everything that we had just been thinking about. In order for your daydreaming to become contemplation, you must stay focused on what your mind is thinking about. It becomes a fine trick where you allow your mind the freedom that it needs to flow naturally but you stay focused enough to be able to remember, question, and pursue different lines of thought.

With a little practice you will be able to use this contemplation to find answers to all your questions. You have to practice by yourself so that you can become good at staying conscious of what you are thinking about, and then eventually at directing your mind ever so slightly so that the course of your thoughts takes you in the direction that you want them to go. This is a very fun and relaxing way to question and find answers and can easily become a meditation, that you can use every day to question yourself and to relax, like releasing built up pressure from the day.

When you begin to question yourself, you will see that you will come up with surprising answers, especially if you use the contemplation technique that I just mentioned. With these answers you will be able to implement solutions that you might not have thought of before. You might also find that you are dedicating way too much time and effort on things that are just not that important.

Self contemplation is the art of questioning. The most important questions in your life will always be the questions that you have about yourself and your own being. Therefore make sure that you practice this fine art for your betterment and for the betterment of those you care about. Question yourself, learn self contemplation, and enjoy the ride.
