The very first thing that you do when you begin life is take a breath and the last thing that you do upon your death is to exhale. To say that breath is the be all end all of existence is not an overestimation.

To truly cover the marvel that is the living breath, would require a volume of books but I hope to give you a basic understanding of and the importance of the proper method of breathing.

Your breathing regulates and controls every single function in your body. This is something that the East has known since time immemorial and the West is just beginning to understand. If you can at least teach yourself to breathe properly, then you will be a long way to extending your life and improving your health.

Most people have heard the famous phrase about how you can go without food for weeks and without water for days but you can only last a few minutes without breathing. Well, the most important point from this anecdote would seem to be that oxygen is the most important thing of all, but that is not actually the case. The most important lesson is that breathing is a form of ingestion; eating is ingestion, drinking is ingestion. When you breathe, you eat. The fact that you are digesting with your lungs instead of your stomach and intestines doesn’t make breathing any less a form of food consumption. Air is food, learn to eat properly.

Therefore just like having a good diet, you want to ingest healthy air. Most people now a days live in the city, unfortunately here you will not find healthy air. Every single chance you get, take walks and strolls in areas where there is a lot of Flora, the more the better. Get out of the city when you can and go camping or hiking in the great outdoors. Take deep breaths when you get there and your body will love you for it.

Now the best way to begin to breathe properly is to learn to use your entire lung capacity. Most people tend to breathe with only the upper 0ne third of their lungs. This is a terrible mistake because you are robbing yourself of much needed energy.

Think of your lungs as one large glass and oxygen as the water that fills the glass. When you breathe in you are going to fill yourself just like a glass…bottom to top. If you keep this in mind then you will fill your lungs from the bottom to the top. And when you breathe out, just like a glass of water, you will empty your lungs from the top to the bottom. This is most efficient use of your lung capacity and it will allow you to take in much more energy with each breath. Also remember that just like the water fills the glass completely, you want the width of your lungs to be filled completely. Feel the pressure against the sides of your ribs as the air fills the full width of your lungs.

In the East there are an infinite number of variations in breathing style. Some prefer long exhalations, while others prefer long inhalations, and many a Yogi will tell you that the key to it all is a perfectly even breath.

I will give you a basic rule of thumb and then you can decide for yourself how you wish to vary your breathing cycle. But before we continue; please be very careful with these exercises. If you have heart trouble or if you are at risk of brain hemorrhage, please contact your doctor before you try anything that might be risky to your health.

Anyway, the rule of thumb is this:

  • If you are inhaling, then you are taking energy into your body. A slow inhale is like a sponge soaking up pure energy from its surroundings. For example; a very long inhalation, as long as your lungs can possibly handle, while you imagine white light entering every pore of your being, followed by a short fast exhalation, and then another long inhalation (for as many times as you want), will allow you to absorb a great deal of life force.
  • If you are exhaling, then you are distributing and concentrating the energy that your body has or has just acquired through the inhalation. Therefore by making and exhalation far longer than the inhale, you make yourself stronger, more solid.For example you can imagine the energy of your body being channeled into a particular Chakra, so that as you breathe out, that particular energy center grows brighter from the energy and power that you are delivering there. If you are injured, you can project energy into the injured area and speed up healing.

    I have read your book on the Vampire’s Way To Psychic Self Defense, and have been practicing the breathing technique where you visualize the negative energy as a black cloud, then pull it into your cauldron using reverse breathing, visualization and the affirmation, then condense it into a dense ball of energy, then transmute and devour it.

    My problem is I”m not sure what exactly to visualize during the transmutation and devouring part. Do I imagine that I am literally eating this energy with my mouth? I know that probably sounds like a silly question, but I am one who gets confused if I don’t know exactly what to visualize. You said to imagine your body ripping into it and devouring it and I don’t know how to picture that! haha

    In spite of the confusion, I have done my best with it and have noticed an increase in my energy, so I have no doubt it works, but being a perfectionist and wanting to get the most out of it, I’m not happy not knowing if I’m doing it right!

    Another problem is that since I’m not around people very much, I don’t often get the opportunity to practice this technique ….unless something online or in the mail is upsetting or stressful.

    So I’m wondering ….will this work if I visualize a negative event in my past, as if I am reliving it, while doing this technique. Can I take back energy from the past or is it lost? Someone said that you can never stand in the same stream twice, so…..I wanted to get your advice before I try practicing it this way.

    There was another technique, I believe in your book on Overcoming the Archon, in which you become one with everything around you — in my case it’s a pristine area in the AZ high desert — and then breath in the energy with one long inhalation, then while continuing to hold your breath, you condense the energy in your cauldron, then while still holding the breath, you visualize the energy going out into all your body’s cells. My problem is that I get out of breath and after exhaling I need to gulp air for a few breaths before I can do another one. Am I doing it wrong? Would it be better for me to do this breathing practice using the other technique in the vampire’s book, instead? — visualizing pulling the energy into my cauldron, then condensing, transmuting and devouring? Would I still visualize the energy as a black cloud since it’s not negative energy?

    I hope that’s not too many questions!!

    ….When dealing with a PNOB, and using the claws as energy pumps ….did you mean to visualize pulling the energy in through the hands/claws and arms? Or do I simply grab the PNOB and visualize pulling the energy through the air and into my body as in the vampire’s way technique?

    1. Hi Angela,
      Yes definitely imagine anything you like that allows you to deeply feel like a predator consuming its prey, you could even imagine this part of yourself as Audrey II from little shop of horrors, “feed me Seymour!”
      As far as the energy claws, it is best in my opinion to feel the energy being pulled in through the claws. In this way you do not need to bring the PNOB closer to you which is never advisable.

      Well, let me congratulate you on living in such a wonderful sounding place. In an unpopulated area, surrounded by nature, unless you suddenly come under the attention of a PNOB, it is best to just ingest energy freely, without a need to devour. Just pull in energy in a nice long in breath using the IN Polarity then practice ingesting this pleasant energy (again no devouring needed), and moving it into your Cauldron. Indeed this is such a wonderful way to increase your energy level; try doing ten long IN breaths in the morning, midday, and in the evening. See what this feels like for you.

        Thank you for explaining. I am still just a little confused about one thing …I thought you had said that if you just breath in the energy without condensing it in your cauldron and then visualize consuming it, that you would not benefit from it ….or were you specifically referring to “negative” energy, and not energy you would breath in from a healthy environment such as the one I live in? ….and yes, it is great. I was very lucky to acquire it. I was very ill and disabled, and an old friend who owned it wanted to move back east and needed a house sitter. Then when he decided he wasn’t coming back, he sold it to me for easy payments with no down.. Now I work online so I am able to stay here!

        But you said, “practice ingesting this pleasant energy (again no devouring needed)” ….What is the difference between ingesting and devouring? Do you mean just practice pulling the energy in through the pores or into the bones ….is that what you mean by ingesting as opposed to devouring?

        I am very much dying to see that “latest project” …haha! Can’t wait!

        1. It’s too bad that you had to go through such trauma but I am very happy that you were able to get such a wonderful place, and that you are happy and self sufficient now. Good for you!

          I do try (sorry for any confusion!) to use consistent terminology but I do also like to mix it up because I think that it is very important to avoid being stuck to/in words; my hope is that through your efforts you find the variations on these techniques that work best for you, and that words in the end become less important than the actual feel of it for you.
          With the techniques that I talk about in the Vampire book, I am using the term devouring (or consuming) a lot because since this is a self defense book I am taking it for granted that all energy being confronted and absorbed here will be aggressive and most likely negative. In my other material though I try to show the possibility of just ingesting energy more naturally from the world at large.
          Think of absorption as being like breathing, we all do it quite naturally from the moment we are born, or we can learn better techniques that allow us to get more from every breath by practicing more conscious breathing techniques.
          This is again something that I try to clarify in much greater detail in the course that I am putting together for more advanced practitioners like you. Basically you can think of absorption and ingesting as the body naturally or consciously (if you practice the bone breathing techniques for example) taking in energy from the world around it. The absorption is like breathing in, the ingesting is like the break down of what you absorbed into useful things for your body (in the same way that you change food into energy in your stomach, or when you are consciously coalescing the absorbed energy into a more refined and more useful product in your cauldron).
          Now devouring is something that is needed for energy that you ‘feel’ is propelled (or you may also say; contains within it) negative intent or opposing energy. Then the act of devouring allows you to nullify that negative intent (through the devouring process created by a predatory stance) so that you can take energy that might have been negative to you before and making that bad energy your good energy, your power. You can think of devouring as an extra process being done in the ingestion phase of the techniques mentioned.
          So devouring, in that predatory fashion is something for those times when you are being attacked or a facing opposition. And general absorption and ingestion is for when you find yourself in a relatively good place where you are not feeling the tension from opposition.

          I hope that helps somewhat.

Sorry I was so long responding, but I have been practicing different ways of taking in energy from the healthy environment around me — the different ways you have mentioned here and in your books — trying to find one single technique that works best. I think it is because I am autistic that I am having trouble with this!! Dyslexic comprehension, and the breathing itself — I get so out of breath — is difficult. I’m getting pretty good at sucking in, condensing in the cauldron, and then devouring negative energy — your description of that one was very easy for me to understand. Now I just need one for absorbing the energy out in nature. I have tried bone breathing – the absorption — but then am not sure how to ingest this energy …what to visualize. Any idea when your course will be ready? 🙂

          2. Try to take it easy when you do all this, don’t strain please! And do contact a qualified medical professional before engaging in anything that can be too much for you (Please note I am NOT a qualified medical professional and whatever material I provide is for information purposes only). Just breathe normally, visualize ingesting white light instead of just oxygen, and let your body do what it does naturally. Through absorption in this way you are naturally ingesting, don’t over complicate it, your body knows naturally how to do most of this.
            Sorry it is very difficult to give a timeline on this, I am hoping to be finished the course in 4 weeks or so, but my schedule is quite heavy at the moment.
