Keys to Inner Alchemy: Two Portals That Lead to Unbelievable Knowledge and Power
In the pursuit of knowledge, inner alchemists often tap into certain wells of information found in the world at large. These wells are deep fonts of knowledge, and to access them, we seek what I call “keys.” I’ve discussed these keys in my writing, describing them as starting points or portals that lead to deeper reservoirs of wisdom.
Recently, while responding to a reader’s comment, I was prompted to provide the starting point for a particular key—one that unlocks an incredible amount of information. This key, like many others, doesn’t have a physical form. It’s ethereal, existing in the realm of ideas and connections. However, it’s important to note that not all keys are intangible; some are quite concrete and physical in nature.
The key I revealed in my response might seem trivial at first glance—a reference to a seemingly innocuous cartoon from pop culture. But this apparent simplicity belies its true nature. This reference serves as a doorway, opening into a vast tunnel of knowledge that likely contains answers to all the questions posed by the commenter.
These keys, whether ethereal or physical, are not mere factoids or isolated pieces of information. They are nexus points, connecting disparate ideas and concepts across time and space. When properly understood and utilized, they can lead an inner alchemist to profound insights about the nature of reality itself.
The power of these keys lies in their ability to transcend surface-level understanding. They challenge us to look deeper, to see beyond the obvious, and to make connections that might not be immediately apparent. In doing so, they open up new avenues of exploration and understanding.
For the dedicated inner alchemist, these keys are invaluable tools in the quest for personal transformation and spiritual growth. Each key discovered and understood has the potential to catalyze profound changes within the seeker, leading to a deeper connection with the underlying fabric of reality.
The journey to uncover and understand these keys is not always straightforward. It requires patience, persistence, and a willingness to look beyond conventional wisdom. Often, the most valuable keys are those that are hardest to find, hidden in plain sight or disguised as something entirely different.
As we continue to explore and uncover these hidden keys, we set sail on a journey of perpetual discovery and growth. Each key revealed not only answers existing questions but also poses new ones, driving us ever forward in our quest for understanding. This ongoing process of revelation and exploration is at the heart of the inner alchemist’s journey, fueling our eternal search for wisdom and transcendence.
In sharing these insights and guiding others towards these hidden keys, we participate in a grand tradition of knowledge-sharing that spans eons. Each person who discovers and understands one of these keys becomes a potential guide for others, helping to illuminate the path for those who follow.
The quest for these keys is not just an intellectual exercise. It’s a transformative process that can lead to profound personal and collective evolution. As we delve deeper into the wells of knowledge that these keys unlock, we open ourselves to new possibilities and expanded consciousness.
In this particular instance, the key I shared—a reference to a cartoon—might seem inconsequential. But for those who recognize its significance and follow where it leads, it can open up worlds of incredible depth and complexity.
Defining these keys, and giving an example
As an inner alchemist sharing knowledge, I find it essential to explore the nature of these intangible keys. In this article, I focus on a specific key that I’ve discussed in the past, as well as providing a new one. These keys, while not physical, are no less real or potent in their ability to unlock profound understanding.
To grasp the concept of these intangible keys that I will share with you in this article, it’s helpful to view them through a Jungian lens. Carl Jung spoke of archetypes—primordial images and symbols that reside in the deepest recesses of our psyche. These two keys that I’m sharing with you function in a similar manner, serving as portals to vast realms of meaning and symbolism within our individual and collective consciousness.
What makes these particular keys fascinating is their ability to manifest in seemingly mundane or trivial aspects of our culture. They often hide in plain sight, disguised as elements of pop culture or everyday life. Yet, when recognized and engaged with, they can lead us down intricate pathways within the psyche, opening up expansive inner spaces that are as real and substantial as any physical location.
These symbolic roads extend far beyond the confines of our individual minds, reaching into the collective consciousness of humanity. They represent true inner landscapes, vast and deep, that lead to knowledge transcending rational and measurable understanding.
Let me share with you the first key, one that I have explored in the past.
This first key that I want to discuss, I like to call “The Cube.” This archetype has manifested in various forms throughout our cultural consciousness. We see it in the Borg from Star Trek, the cenobites from Hellraiser, references to Men in Black, shadow people, and even in films like Dark City (1998).
The Cube, as a Jungian archetype, serves as a gateway to understanding deeper truths about control, manipulation, and the nature of reality itself. It represents a matrix-like construct, similar to the one depicted in the film “The Matrix,” where our perceived reality is a simulation controlled and manipulated by external forces.
These forces, which I often refer to as Archonic, use this cube-like construct to exert influence and gain power. They do so by distilling and feeding off human emotions, much like the cenobites in Hellraiser who seek to explore the extremes of human experience.
The Cube key opens up a world of exploration into the nature of these controlling forces. It prompts a questioning of the fabric of our reality, considering the possibility that what we perceive as “real” might be a carefully constructed illusion. This key reveals the subtle ways in which our perceptions and emotions might be manipulated by forces beyond our immediate awareness. As it is plainly said by the Borg, which represent the active forces behind this fowl reality construct we call the human world, “RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED”.
Delving into this key can lead to profound insights about the nature of consciousness, free will, and the structures of power that shape our world. It raises questions about the boundaries between individual and collective consciousness, and the ways in which external forces might influence or control our inner experiences.
If you would like to explore this key in further detail, I suggest checking out this video, or this one. In these two videos I try to explore the nature of the cube, its expression in pop culture, and its deeper significance within the collective psyche of humanity. This is a true key that leads to unbelievable places, deep and dark spaces that will, if followed deep enough, unravel the true nature of the simulation we call… Reality.
This key is not a mere intellectual concept to be analyzed from a distance. It is a living symbol, an active force within our psyche that, when engaged with sincerely, can catalyze real transformation. It doesn’t just alter our thinking, but can fundamentally change how we experience reality.
As inner alchemists, our task is to recognize these keys when they appear, to engage with them deeply, and to allow them to guide us into new territories of understanding. This process often disrupts our most basic assumptions about reality, but it is invariably transformative.
In working with these keys, we participate in a grand tradition of seekers and mystics who have sought to penetrate the deeper mysteries of existence. We become part of a lineage that stretches back through time, connecting us with all those who have dared to look beyond the veil of ordinary perception.
Yet, remember that while these two specific keys—shared within this article—draw upon ancient wisdom, they are not literal relics from the past. Other keys undeniably exist as tangible physical objects and relics within our current framework of rational understanding. However, these two discussed here function more fluidly. These two particular keys that I’m talking about here can be more easily shared and you can think of them as living, evolving symbols that continue to manifest in our modern world, often in unexpected ways. Our task is to recognize them in their contemporary guises, to see the eternal truths they represent even when clothed in the trappings of pop culture or everyday life.
As we continue to explore and work with these intangible keys, we open ourselves to ever-expanding vistas of understanding. They not only answer existing questions but also pose new ones, driving us forward in our quest for wisdom and transcendence.
This journey of discovery is at the heart of inner alchemy. It is a process of continuous transformation, where each new insight changes not just what we know, but who we are. As we explore the depths of this symbolic realm, we find that the boundaries between inner and outer, between self and world, begin to blur. We start to recognize the profound interconnectedness of all things, and our place within that vast, intricate web of being.
In sharing these keys and the insights they offer; we participate in the ongoing evolution of human consciousness. Each person who engages with these symbols and integrates their wisdom becomes a beacon for others, helping to illuminate the path of inner transformation and collective awakening. In this journey of inner alchemy, we are not just seeking knowledge, but a fundamental shift in our way of being in the world.
The Second Key
Continuing our exploration of intangible keys, I now wish to share a second key that I used to answer the commenter’s question. This key could be called the Stark or Dragon key. It revolves around the control of emotions and the extension of human life in a certain sense.
To address the commenter’s inquiry, I suggested examining Timmy Turner and his “Emotion Commotion” from the cartoon “The Fairly OddParents.” In this episode, Timmy wishes to have no emotions, which leads to a profound exploration of emotional control.
This particular episode offers an incredibly insightful commentary on the power of emotional control. If we look beyond the surface-level humor, the narrative reveals a wealth of information about the potential benefits of emotional mastery.
When Timmy removes his emotions, he demonstrates an enhanced ability to think logically and solve complex problems. His newfound clarity allows him to tackle situations, that previously caused him distress or confusion, with remarkable efficiency…akin to what I have sometimes called ‘immaculate action’.
The Stark or Dragon key extends beyond this cartoon reference. It manifests in various mythological and science fiction narratives, most notably in the Vulcan approach to logic from Star Trek, where emotional control is seen as a path to advanced evolution and personal development.
This key also relates to our cultural ideas about elves – beings of extraordinary longevity, wisdom, and emotional restraint. Similarly, dragons in mythology represent beings of incredible power, accumulated wisdom, and extended life spans, all seemingly connected to their ability to transcend base emotional responses, which is a key component of their reptilian nature.
The dragon aspect of this key is particularly intriguing. Dragons symbolize longevity, power, and accumulated wealth, with their extended existence attributed to a mastery over emotional reactions, while at the same time operating from a deeply instinctual yet **Stark ** nature.
Importantly, this ‘Stark’ or ‘Dragon Key’ connects directly to the ‘Cube Key’ discussed earlier. It ‘perhaps(?)’ proposes a method of countering external manipulative forces by developing profound emotional control. By mastering one’s emotional reality, an individual might resist the influence of controlling external powers, thereby extending their life and attaining a form of immaculate action.
The connection between emotional control and extended life or power is a recurring theme across philosophical and spiritual traditions, if we are willing to look past the surface level minutia and whitewashing that exists in modern culture. It perhaps proposes that by understanding and managing our emotional states, we can transcend ordinary human limitations and access deeper levels of consciousness and capability.
“To ‘give style’ to one’s character — a great and rare art! It is practiced by those who survey all the strengths and weaknesses that their nature has to offer and then fit them into an artistic plan until each appears as art and reason and even weaknesses delight the eye.” —– Friedrich Nietzsche
The Stark/Dragon key represents a refinement of what I have termed in my writings as the logos. This key illuminates a path towards developing, or at least beginning to cultivate, the power needed to construct a mind palace of incredible consistency and perfection. In essence, it guides us in creating our own cube within a cube, establishing an existence framework that allows us to transcend the reality bound by the controlling forces mentioned in the Cube key.
While these keys may seem intangible at first, they lead deeply into other realms that are as potent and tangible as any physical reality. The Stark key, in particular, reveals a method to structure our inner reality, enabling us to find a tangible perfection within ourselves. This internal perfection becomes a means to transcend, to some degree, the Archonic control that permeates our perceived reality.
The fine control and deep understanding of emotions that this key represents lead to an elf-like beauty and mastery. This mastery perfects not only the physical self but also the individual’s psyche. It’s a process of refining both our inner and outer selves, achieving a harmony that allows us to operate on a higher level of consciousness.
By developing this internal structure, we create a fortress of the mind that the external controlling forces find difficult to penetrate. This mind palace, built on the principles of emotional mastery and logical clarity, becomes a sanctuary where we can cultivate our true potential, free from the manipulations of the Archonic influences.
The Stark key, therefore, is not just about suppressing emotions, but about understanding them so profoundly that we can harness their power without being ruled by them. It’s about achieving a state of being where emotions become tools for our growth and transcendence, rather than obstacles or vulnerabilities that can be exploited by external forces.
This key opens up possibilities for extending human potential, both in terms of longevity and in the quality of our existence. The dragon-like accumulation of wisdom and power becomes possible when we’re no longer at the mercy of our emotional reactions, but instead can channel that energy into personal growth and understanding.
In exploring and implementing this key, we begin to see the world and ourselves in a new light. The clarity achieved through emotional mastery allows us to perceive the subtle manipulations of reality that we might otherwise miss. It grants us the ability to navigate the complex web of existence with greater skill and purpose.
Ultimately, the Stark/Dragon key offers a path to a kind of internal alchemy. By refining our emotions and thoughts, we transform our very being, creating a version of ourselves that is more resilient, more perceptive, and more capable of transcending the limitations imposed by the reality/simulation we find ourselves in.
There are many more keys, you just have to not turn away from the Odd Angles
In conclusion, the two keys I’ve shared in this article—the Cube and the Stark/Dragon key—are just two potential gateways hidden within our outer reality, waiting for someone to step through them with focused attention. These keys open doors to explorative spaces and adventurous lands, sometimes savage in nature but infinitely intriguing other places, that lead to unbelievable journeys of discovery.
While I’ve referred to these as projections of consciousness in the past, their reality is so intense, their existence so physically tangible, that they become high adventures into knowledge itself. Imagine them as treasure hunts where following the map leads not just to material riches, but to incredible amounts of knowledge and power. As we face trials and traverse these inner spaces, we discover new rooms of exploration, each unveiling deeper layers of understanding.
My hope is that you’ll take these two keys I’ve shared and embark on your own exploration. See where they take you and how they relate to your individuality, your psyche, and your personal development. The beauty of these keys lies in their ability to resonate differently with each person, offering unique insights and pathways based on one’s own experiences and inner reality.
Remember, these are just two keys among many. In this case, we’ve focused on intangible keys, but there are others of various natures. The realm of inner alchemy is vast and filled with countless doors waiting to be unlocked.
As you step into these realms, be prepared for transformative experiences. The knowledge gained isn’t merely intellectual—it has the power to reshape your understanding of reality and your place within it. These journeys can be challenging, but they offer rewards beyond measure in terms of self-knowledge and personal growth.
The exploration of these keys is an ongoing process, a lifelong journey of discovery and transformation. Each key you uncover and engage with has the potential to open new vistas of understanding, driving you forward in your quest for wisdom and transcendence.
As an inner alchemist sharing this knowledge, I can assure you that the adventures awaiting you are beyond imagination. The tales I could tell of my own journeys through these realms would fill volumes. But the most important stories will be the ones you create yourself as you engage with these keys and discover your own paths through the inner landscapes they reveal.
So, take these keys—the Cube and the Stark—and see where they lead you. And always keep your eyes open for other keys hidden in plain sight, waiting for you to recognize and use them. The journey of inner alchemy is one of perpetual discovery, and oh, what tales you’ll have to tell!

If you’re intrigued by these explorations into deep and adventurous lands, if you seek to understand the logos, the nature of these keys, and the knowledge of inner alchemy, I recommend delving into the Magnum Opus trilogy. Within its pages, you’ll discover numerous keys, methods, and pathways to break free from the cube, from the cenobites, and from the dark forces that have constructed a prison around us – a prison without walls.
The trilogy consists of three books:
- The Magnum Opus, A Step by Step Course
- The Way of the Projectionist
- The Way of the Death Defier: Apocryphon of Inner Alchemy
These works offer a comprehensive guide to inner alchemy, providing practical exercises, illustrations, and routines to help you reach your goals. They explore concepts such as energy manipulation, emotional containment, perception beyond ordinary senses, the way of consciousness projection, and attainment of personal power.
The final book in the trilogy, “The Way of the Death Defier,” delves into profound questions about life, death, and the nature of reality. It promises to reveal secrets about true immortality and how to perceive these truths directly.
By engaging with this material, you may find yourself on a transformative journey, learning to see the world as a “sea of vibrating energy” rather than an “object-filled place”. This shift in perception could be the key to unlocking your own potential and freeing yourself from the constraints of conventional reality.

Damn, some words that give my lifelong fascination with Dragons and my obsession with building the “dragon body” I learned about through reading between the lines of Internal martial arts practices.
Direct awareness of the concept of Keys is feeling very empowering right now and it came right after realizing and acting on the need to make chapter 1 of The Way of the Death Defiers my main focus instead of fighting with numerous things that are all in the way of true discipline as I make a focused effort to face my fears and embrace all of the true Knowledge I’ve claimed in the past.
All of my folly seems to melt if I re-connect with using death as an adviser, but there is no free ride, just a question of how many reps I’ll have to repeat to return this Intent to the prominent place that let it fuel the most powerful times of my life so far in the past.
To help with this effort, I’ve recently created a personal sigil after exploring the practice a bit , prompted by the Archane Archives article. The sigils I cast before the creation of this personal tool were all ones that manipulated my personal logos, inspired by my understanding or lack thereof, of servitors like MOLAMP. There were some very interesting results when directly manipulating aspects of my personal logos, that revealed how interconnected my current shortcomings all are with each other, but also how they overlap and are intertwined with any area that I’m also succeeding in. The push/pull of one change in my psyche leading to the triggering or re-emergence of others lead me to realize the need for Death as an adviser, and the personal sigil I created last weekend to explore and implement my approach, ended up with a dragon shape. The truth is this logo came to me first in terms of linear time when I started to re-explore the Norse Runes when the Arcane Archives article on them came out, and it’s giving me a nice chicken or the egg type of contemplation to work with.
I’m full of appreciation this morning that a speaker is present to shine light on aspects of my personal journey and that I’ve rekindled my dedication to finding my own way inspired by all I’m exposed to and explore, instead of a love affair with a particular dogma.
Synchronicity
Thank you Derek. That’s the way of it, as a Jung would say… Synchronicity!…as he goes insane writing in his little red book 🙂
Hi John, what a great article that resonates deeply with me. You say these keys „manifest“ themselves for us to be found. In consequence, this raises the question who (or what) „places“ them in the collective reality over and over again? I am not sure if a movie director or singer, who uses such a key in his/her movie or song, actually knows that it has the power of such a transformative „message“ or „tool“. It seems to be the illusion or simulation itself that HAS to offer us these means to discover and grow through various ways. This is similar to the Mandela effect, which seems to have been a major key on my jouney so far. Or the number 33 that seems to bleed through „my reality“ lately – it just appears everywhere. Do you know what I mean? All this points to a temporary conclusion that is quite revealing, I think: I chose to be here. To participate in this „game of life“ with its everyday challenges. And maybe – also thanks to your inspirational work – I might be moving to a point (of consciousness) to leave this „world“ behind in the end.
Those are powerful words Reto. As a fighter fighting the same fight, I am inspired by your words and hope you all the best in your endless voyage.
